The founder
Elias Mohammed
The path here started on the workshop floor of the electrical industry — building power supply units and control cabinets from the very components many of our clients stock today: breakers, contactors, terminals, cable. That's why the first meeting doesn't need a translator: the products, the suppliers and the lead times are familiar territory.
From the workshop came an Automation & Industrial Engineering education in Switzerland, then twelve-plus years running supply chain planning inside multinationals: forecasting demand, setting stock rules, and building the monthly planning routines that keep global businesses supplied. The tools were sophisticated; the principles were not. Order by rule. Review monthly. Make someone own it.
Jupa Operating Partners exists to bring those principles — sized correctly, priced fairly — to the businesses that need them most and are served by consultants the least: Kenya's import-heavy distributors and manufacturers.
Why Kenya's distributors
Because imported stock punishes guesswork twice.
A Nairobi distributor ordering from overseas lives with lead times of weeks or months. Order too little and the shelf sits empty until the next shipment clears. Order too much and the cash is locked away just as long. Every ordering decision is a large, slow, expensive bet — made, in most businesses, from memory.
Multinationals solved this decades ago with rules and routine, then priced that knowledge out of reach of mid-sized firms. Jupa's premise is simple: the discipline transfers.
